Frequently Asked Questions

What is Cole Teaches Chemistry?

Cole Teaches Chemistry is an independent collection of free chemistry videos and companion learning materials created by Dr. Cole Meyer. The lessons emphasize intuition, mechanism, and practice rather than memorization alone.

Who are these materials for?

The materials are designed primarily for college students taking or preparing for organic chemistry. The general chemistry review unit covers the foundational ideas that organic chemistry courses commonly expect students to know, and the organic chemistry materials are meant to augment students' preparation.

Where should I begin?

If you are preparing for organic chemistry or reviewing its foundations, begin with the General Chemistry Review. You can follow the lessons in order or go directly to the topic your course is currently covering.

What does each lesson include?

Completed lessons include a free video, downloadable lecture notes, a Knowledge Checkpoint, and Challenge Problems. Answer keys and practice exams are also being added as each section is completed.

When will new lessons be available?

Additional lessons are in development. If there is any specific curriculum you are interested in seeing content for, you may email coleteacheschemistry@gmail.com to make the request.

How can I report an error or ask a question?

Please email coleteacheschemistry@gmail.com to report an error, broken link, or unclear explanation. Corrections and feedback are always welcome.

How can I support the project?

You can support the project by sharing the resource with your instructor, peers, or anyone who might need help with chemistry.

If you or your organization would like to support the project financially, please visit the support page at coleteacheschemistry.com/support

What does support make possible?

Cole Teaches Chemistry is built outside regular teaching and research work. Support helps cover the costs of hosting the site and resources, producing new lessons, maintaining the tools behind the project, and continuing to expand the curriculum.

More importantly, it lets the educational side stay free for everyone.

Does support buy access to additional materials?

No. There are no secret materials unlocked only for donors.

All lessons, worksheets, problem sets, exams, and answer keys remain available to everyone. Supporting the project simply helps make more of them possible.
