GENERAL CHEMISTRY REVIEW
LESSON 2 OF 4
Lewis Structures & Bonding
How do atoms combine to make molecules? In this lesson, we'll build the bonding intuition that underlies all of organic chemistry. We'll introduce Lewis structures and valence electrons, identify the characteristic bonding patterns of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and the halogens, and use those patterns to understand why atoms form the bonds they do. We'll also introduce multiple bonds as an extension of these fundamental ideas.
